Calm pristine waters
stained with red.
Feathers scattered
across the bay.
Mother duck and ducklings
laying all dead.
Shot by men
having a fun day
during
shooting season
this year.

TO FIX THE WORLD
To fix the world...
it is an impossible task.
The ideal ephemeral and varied.
The pleasure of some,
the nightmare of others.
We are the products of our experience.
The same seed in some souls produces flowers
and thorns and thistles in others.
To improve the world.....
It is to wish to pin the sun in your lapel.
I am content to love everything I touch.
it is an impossible task.
The ideal ephemeral and varied.
The pleasure of some,
the nightmare of others.
We are the products of our experience.
The same seed in some souls produces flowers
and thorns and thistles in others.
To improve the world.....

Oscillation
Through small invisible fissures
the content of our souls escapes
leaving us hollow, empty, desolated
without inspiration and hope.
Inexorably events continue to accumulate
filling us up with memories
and suddenly the soul is full once again.
With this constant oscillation of the tide of life,
at moments, we feel completely empty
and next entirely full.

Still Numb
It rained bullets again
sowing death and sorrow
in the halls of education.
Was it yesterday or is it today?
Lost souls,
solitary minds,
drugs that alter the subconscious.
I don't remember clearly.
Was it today or was it yesterday?
I am still numb with pain.
My soul is shattered.
I pray that tomorrow will spare us
the senseless loss of youth.

Mediocrity and His Friends
Mediocrity and Hate arrived holding hands
to take charge of the school.
They fired Justice and invited all their friends.
Arrogance destroyed the previous structure.
Ignorance started to plan a new one;
it spent hours, days, weeks and months
trying to come up with another structure,
but, only opened the door to Chaos.
Chaos brought Recrimination
who was followed by Demoralization.
Demoralization pushed down Quality,
who was already comfortably in place.
Gossip replaced Experience.
Prepotency stamped over Dignity.
Insecurity established a net of espionage and
prohibited free communications among colleagues.
While Hypocrisy smiling and with sweet words
offered pizzas and food,
Mediocrity pointed to Sabotage,
who was not present,
as the one responsible
for the poor results obtained
by the administrative staff.

Modern City
Rivers of lights running over asphalt,
a gray sky covering above.
Mountains of iron and concrete,
the sun rays flickering through the crevices.
Lonely trees, refugees of some forest.
Factories that never rest or sleep,
saturating the air with gloominess,
while absorbing the vital substance of life.
Work that consumes the hours and the days.
People running to fulfill their duties.
Humans, that live to serve the currency,
left without family and soul.

Impotence
A deep, profound pain stole my voice
and speechless I shout my helplessness.
The door of the underworld opened
and the riders of the Apocalypse
hastened through the coast of my motherland.
The “Pachamama” shook.
While desolation wildly trampled over the Earth,
death arrived under the veil of night.
Now the wind carries the cries of a whole nation,
while the days nurse insecurity and hunger,
under the indifferent glance of the sky.

Snip, pin, stitch
Snip, pin, stitch,
snip, pin, stitch.
Hands measuring,
scissors flying,
Singer humming.
Snip, pin, stitch,
snip, pin, stitch.
Black cloth,
white cloth,
cloth of many colors
parading under the needle.
Snip, pin, stitch,
snip, pin, stitch.
Bears, monkeys, bats,
trolls, sailors and fairies
waiting to be born.
Snip, pin, stitch,
snip, pin, stitch.
Oh, my!
long strings, short strings
pieces and pieces of cloth
laying all over the floor.
Snip, pin, stitch,
snip, pin, stitch.
Finally all is done.

SSHHHHH!!!!
SSHHHHH!!!!
Don’t interrupt me!!!
I am busy classifying the green tones of the forests leaves.
Don’t disturb me !!!!!
I am occupied watching the outline of the mountains.
I am consumed by the effort of stopping the breeze,
while, maintaining apart the circles that the ducks made in the water when they swim.
I can’t listen to you now.
I am extremely occupied!

THE BEE AND ME
WINTER IN THE CITY
Sighs moving slowly
across the pavement.
Desires hanging from
flashing signboards.
Darkness engulfing the horizon.
Boundless shadows torn
by violence.
Hopes waiting for
a present time.
Intense cold that freezes
the soul to its core.
Solitary multitudes
walking without rest.
Incessant movement
forever
paralyzing the city.
Today and tomorrow bond
in the mist of twilight.

RAIN
Children's poetry
Cloudy skies,
flashing lights at far zig zagging,
loud sounds,thunderstorms,
puddles, muddy soil.
Drip, drip, drip, drop
drip, drip, drip, drop
Dancing drops on my umbrella.
Dancing drops on the sidewalk.
Dancing drops are everywhere.
Drip, drip, drip, drop.
Drip, drip, drip, drop,
is the sound the drops make.
Water on my hair and lashes.
Water on my face and neck.
Water running down my body.
Water soaking all my clothes.
Swish, swash,swish, swash,
water squirts out of my shoes
shivers, and a...a... a... choooo!
a...a...a...chooo!

Mature Love
Love is the diamond forged by two souls during a life time.
It is the fabric woven with patience and tenderness.
Two trees that grew together and the time fussed their trunks.
Love is two bodies sustained by a single heart.
Love is the mirror of shared memories.
It is the anguish and the joy.
It is the passion and the sacrifice.
It is the adventure and the routine.
It is the fire that melts
two souls to make
one.

Oh, my!
Spring
Spring rolled over the countryside.
It rolled over the mountains.
It rolled over the houses
and with a thump fell into the botton of the sea.

AT THE DOCTOR
A head of lettuce went to see a doctor,
he had a terrible migraine.
At the Doctor’s office
he ran into an ear of corn
aflicted by a painful
middle ear infection
and an artichoke heart
suffering from heartburn.
The doctor examined them
and prescribed to all of them:
AN APPLE A DAY TO KEEP THE DOCTOR AWAY.
